From 1st April 2011 it is legal for an employee to cash up to one weeks annual leave each year and take the money rather than a holiday.
Technically, a request to cash up annual leave must be made in writing by the employee.
The key is that the decision to cash up leave is "informed and voluntary".
An employer cannot force an employee to cash up annual leave.
From Calculate Pays click Holiday Pay then Cash Up Holiday Pay.
Enter the number of days to be cashed and confirm the daily rate.
If cashing up a whole week remember to select one week when on the tax calculation screen so Ace Payroll taxes the holiday pay as a separate weeks pay.
