Ace Payroll & Windows 8
 | We are thinking of upgrading our computers to Windows 8. Is Ace Payroll compatible with Windows 8 and, while I know it isn't really your place to say, is Windows 8 any good? |
Ace Payroll is fully compatible with Windows 8 which was released on 26/10/2012.
We have extensively tested Ace Payroll in a Windows 8 environment and there are no problems or special considerations.
Our experience with Windows 8 is good, as have been the majority of reviews we have seen.
Whilst we wouldn't upgrade an existing computer to any new operating system without a good reason, we strongly recommend making sure your next computer, laptop or netbook comes with Windows 8.

The whole point of Windows 8 is that Microsoft is trying to end up with a system that works on both a traditional computer and also tablets and smartphones.
As a result of this, there are two versions of Windows 8. One is simply known as Windows 8, the other is known as Windows RT.
The following point is important to note : Windows RT, which is mainly for tablets, does NOT run traditional Windows programs such as Ace Payroll.
Therefore, it is important to ensure that it is Windows 8 you are purchasing, and not Windows RT.
This point will become important in the coming months when Microsoft will release a range of tablets. Some of these will run Windows 8 and some will run Windows RT - confusion city!
The tablets running Windows 8 will be able to run Ace Payroll, which looks like being a good alternative to a laptop or netbook computer.
We will add more information to this page when information is released by Microsoft.
