System Information

The system information utility provides information about your computer's environment that our help desk has found to be useful.

You may be asked to read out some of the fields from this screen when liasing with our support staff, particularly if you are having problems installing upgrades.

From the Utilities section of the main menu select System Information. The following screen is shown

Program Folder
The location on your computer of the Ace Payroll program files. This is where you need to install any upgrades, and is also the path if setting up a Windows shortcut.

By default Ace Payroll is loaded in a folder called c:\winpay

However, you can load it anywhere you choose.

Data Folder
The location of the payroll data files currently in use.

Total Disk Space
Total capacity of your hard drive.

Free Disk Space
Free space on your hard drive. These days it is very rare for clients to report data writing errors, but in years gone by these have sometimes been caused by no free disk space.

Clock Calendar
Ace Payroll relies very heavily on your system clock. This field should show the current time and date.

Windows Version
This is the version of Windows you are using, as reported internally by the system.

Screen Resolution
Ace Payroll automatically sizes itself based on the screen resolution shown in this field.
